The 7 Habits
Our school has embraced the implementation of the:
7 Habits of Healthy Kids at EBH Elementary School. The faculty and staff are thrilled to bring this concept to you and your children. Students will discover and practice a set of leadership and life skills every day. We are an official LIGHTHOUSE SCHOOL! Congrats to all who helped make this possible! Students will develop a strong work ethic, motivation, problem solving skills, goal setting, trustworthiness, responsibility, effective listening and interpersonal skills. All of these will lead our students to greater academic achievement and leadership skills that will benefit them all of their lives. The focus is on the development of the whole child. It is our goal to find and develop the leader within every child that enters our doors. At EBH we have encouraged our students to take ownership of the building and create action teams to address various parts of the world. For example, we have a team of Leader Greeters, Announcement Leaders, Lost and Found Leaders, Student Cabinet, etc. We celebrate leadership at our monthly Leadership Assemblies and this brings the whole school community together and is a positive addition to our building environment. We look forward to seeing our students explore their leadership abilities!

Lighthouse Certification comes as a result of implementing Leader in Me with fidelity
Lighthouse Schools use a Lighthouse Rubric to measure outcomes in three areas: teaching leadership principles, creating a leadership culture, and aligning academic systems. Schools also measure their success as it relates to their unique school. Lighthouse Schools serve as exemplars to their community and other schools.
